Margaret O’Meara, CFP ®, AIFA® has been assisting schools, businesses and family businesses since 1993. Margaret provides comprehensive financial services including corporate retirement plan consulting, investment management, asset allocation, college funding planning, comprehensive financial planning, and estate planning. She has assisted school and company retirement plan sponsors to select and monitor investment options, reduce fiduciary liability, choose appropriate vendor and design a program that helps to attract and retain employees. She has assisted hundreds of companies and individuals to establish financial plans.
Ms. O’Meara is president of O’Meara Financial Group and started her career with ADP Benefit Services in Mid-town Manhattan. She progressed into advising individuals and corporations as a Divisional Vice President and Retirement Plans Consultant at PaineWebber, then as a Vice President of Retirement Plans at Fidelity Investments.
Ms. O’Meara is a Certified Financial Planner. The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards awards the Certified Financial Planner designation. To become a Certified Financial Planner, Ms. O’Meara took a two year course of study, passed six rigorous tests and successfully passed a two day comprehensive exam. She also earned her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Fordham University Business School in New York City.
Margaret O’Meara has earned the ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY ANALYST ® (or AIFA ®) professional designation awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, associated with the University of Pittsburgh, and certifies her to conduct investment fiduciary audits and/or reviews.
Margaret has lectured on financial topics at Fordham University and the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, as well as at a number of organizations and businesses in New Jersey and New York. Additionally, her investment classes have been widely attended. She has appeared on the Lasting Lifestyles TV show sponsored by Brookdale College, quoted in articles on MSN Money.com and published by The Two River Times. She lives in Rumson, New Jersey with her husband and sons Jake and Jude.
